| Bio: | I was born in Frankfurt Germany but I am originally from the Cincinnati area of Ohio. Since my mother worked for AT&T in Dayton I stayed in the Cincinnati area for 10 years. When my Mother got laid off she found a job in Detroit working for leading accounting Firm Deloitte & Touche. I lived in Canton Michigan for 1 year and then I settled in Chesterfield TWP, MI for about 6 years. That is where I truly grew up, and developed my skills as an artist from Mrs. Gayle Hamlin and her comic Illustration class at L'Anse Cruese High school North. When my college years crept up on me, I wanted to attend Savannah’s College of Art and Design and major in 3D animation with a minor in sequential art ... but despite what my teachers in high school told me .. I could not afford such a school ... So I went to Eastern Kentucky University, My Step Father was from Middletown and I got legacy because of him. Instead of majoring in Computer Animation .. I had to settle for a major in Graphic Design. My first year went well, I was in the band, met a lot of friends and eventually a girlfriend who I loved very much. I met 2 amazing faculty members I will never forget .. Dave, and Gay who helped me further my skills as an artist. When summer came though ... I was presented with a huge question and a lot of problems. My parents had just moved to St. Louis and I was scared about my major ... What would follow would be the loneliest summer in my life ... I had to worry about my future in a career I was very uncertain about and contemplating transferring .. I worked a crappy job .. had a crappy adjustment .. in a crappy place where I knew no one .. and on top of that I had a girlfriend I couldn't see but had to worry about.. When I got back to EKU ... life didn't get too much better .. I had to face the depression that was the major I was now certain I hated .. I had to deal with incompetent faculty in my department .. and the sadness knowing that I wanted to leave, and it would eventually tear me apart from my girlfriend ... and all of my friends. So the semester later .. here I am .. finished with my new semester at my new school .. The following entries are more about how I cope with the break up of the most serious relationship I’ve ever had ... my journey to meet friends in a new place .. and my new love for my major and my artwork ... In the near future I am going to have to go back to St. Louis and face my new home yet again ... lately in life I feel like I'm in limbo .. not knowing where I belong or who sometimes my friends are .. This livejournal is how I can keep connected to what I have left .. those people I know and love in 4 different states. -Jacob Williams | |||||
